The Chiefs, Officers and members of the Islip Terrace Fire Department want to reassure all residents of the Islip Terrace Fire District that we're here for you, and we remain ready and committed.
WE WILL BE THERE WHEN YOU CALL!
We have taken proactive steps to protect our community and the Department is taking all precautions to stop the spread of this illness among the people we serve, our emergency responders, and our families. Rest assured continuity plans are in place to provide uninterrupted emergency service.
An important aspect of the plan is to protect our First Responders so they can continue to protect and serve the community. We’re asking that you help us help you by letting the 9-1-1 or fire dispatcher know if you are experiencing ANY of the known symptoms of COVID-19, and/or if your home is under quarantine whether it be self-imposed or mandated
These are unsettling and uncertain times in our Country. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to escalate, so we all need to come together to ensure the health and safety of our families. Practice social distancing, practice good hand hygiene, and isolate yourself if you’re sick.
All of us need to follow the guidelines outlined by the federal government and our State and County officials. There is a lot of information out there, but make sure you are getting RELIABLE information. The CDC, the World Health Organization and the NY State Department of Health are all great sources to get accurate, up-to-date information.
With small but powerful actions, we can all help to stop the spread of Coronavirus! Be kind and compassionate to others. Be mindful that this is a very stressful time for people. Fear and anxiety about the disease can be overwhelming.
We WILL get through this. Together.
Chief of Department
